Wearing wigs can definitely take some adjusting to. There are some things that you can do to help.
We recommend using Headline It. It is a no sweat liner designed specifically for the inside of your wig cap to absorb sweat away from your skin. This will help to keep your wig fresh for longer as well, due to the sweat absorbing into the liner and not into the material of your wig cap.
Look for low density wigs. Wigs made with a monofilament hand sewn cap tend to be lower in density than a machine-made wig with permatease.
If you’re wearing a wig long enough to pin up, I suggest you do so. You can find a lot of cute updo styles and tutorials on YouTube. This will not only help to keep you cooler but will also help with the longevity of your wig.

Wigs can be itchy especially if you have bio hair. Try and get your hair as nicely tucked under your wig cap or braided snuggly to your head and use a wig grip. The more secure your wig is, the less itchiness you should experience.
Purchasing a high-quality wig can make a big difference in the comfort of fit. Being sure that you are purchasing the correct size is also very important. If a wig is too big it can pucker and if it’s too small, it’ll be too tight and both instances can cause much itchiness.

When it comes to ensuring that your wig has a long life, it’s important to do everything you can to care for it. Some wig care tips are storing it properly on a stand or mannequin head, using the correct brush, and using the appropriate styling and wash products.

Many insurance providers DO cover medical wigs. We recommend that you contact your provider before your appointment. Ask if they cover hair prosthesis or cranial prosthesis due to your medical reason for hair loss. If they do, you’ll get a prescription from your doctor. After you purchase your wig from us, you’ll submit the receipt along with your prescription to your insurance provider as per their instructions to receive your reimbursement.

The fun part about wearing alternative hair is that you get to choose the best style for you. With that being said, we get that having so many options can be overwhelming. We highly recommend that you book a consultation with us so we can assist you during this process. During our consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to try on some wigs. Take note of how they make you feel. We want you to get back to you in your new hair piece.
Wigs provide full coverage, while toppers only provide partial coverage. Toppers blend into your bio hair to give it a fuller look and are for you if your hair is thinning but not completely gone. They need to be matched with your current hair color and texture. However, human hair wigs and toppers can often be custom colored and highlighted. You’ll want to consult a professional that has knowledge in this area as it’s not the same as coloring your bio hair.
